Very Rare Civil War Artillery Ammo Box!

 Here is a very rare original U.S. Civil War ammo box for 12 rounds of 10# Schenkle type case shot cannon ammunition. The box is constructed of nailed dovetailed wooden boards with rope carriers. The box is marked "12 ROUNDS CASE SHOT" in faded white stenciling on the ends. The box has a split in the bottom and is missing the cover boards but is in otherwise very sturdy condition. There is also evidence of animal damage on the inside bottom also which is probably due to this box sitting in a barn or attic for over 100 years! This may be the only ammo box of this type in existance and these are almost never seen outside of museum collections!
